Thanks to local authorities' continuous efforts to protect the environment, a record 72 bee-eaters were recently counted at Haikou's Wuyuanhe National Wetland Park, in South China's Hainan province, an increase of 46 compared with the same period in 2018. The birds usually migrate to Hainan for the mating season every March.
